4.Masada and the Dead Sea Day Trip from Jerusalem

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 757 reviews · from $111

Spend about nine hours traveling from Jerusalem through the Judean desert to Masada and the Dead Sea. A local guide such as Dorit, Orion, or Erez leads the history portion, while the cable car saves the steep climb to Herod’s fortress. You get time to explore, float, and try Dead Sea mud, though lunch stops and a large group can slow the day.

“I was impressed by our tour guide, Dorit. Her passion for her work and the destinations she showcased was evident throughout the tour. The tour itself has room for improvement. The Dead Sea beach was a bit of let down. Too small for a swim, the facility not great. I also found that I needed to be picked up by 7.55am but the actual tour didn't start until 9am, waiting at the city view cafe, was a bit of waste of time. Other than these, it was a well organised tour and I did enjoy the day.”

It is a perfect choice if you don't have lot's of time during your stay in Israel and won't be renting a car and still want to visit these sites. The bus was comfortable and had an AC. The scenary through bus windows was amazing so time flew fast. Our tour guide Merona was superb.
